The Why

A semi-private space for mindful strength and intentional movement — rooted in the six Pilates principles: breath, concentration, control, precision, centering, and flow.

Everything we teach begins here.

Handwritten quote on dark background: 'move with purpose, build with intention, come as you are.'
  • Gen is a movement guide, embodied certified Pilates instructor, and wellness coach with a degree in exercise sports science and rehab studies from TXST. Her clinical experience spans multiple specialties — including work as a Physical Therapy Clinic Rehab Tech, internships supporting clients across all life stages, and time in a concussion research lab supporting athletes through neurological patterning, balance metrics, and functional recovery.

She also worked as a Nuclear Cardiac Stress Technician, collaborating with patients, performing phlebotomy, and working alongside nuclear medicine teams to observe and analyze physiological changes during cardiac stress testing. These experiences shaped her understanding of how the body adapts, responds, and rebuilds under stress.

Her teaching blends mindful strength, functional patterns, and classical Pilates foundations — honoring tradition while shaping a contemporary, aligned experience. Her postpartum healing journey deepened her connection to intentional movement, inspiring the supportive, science-informed philosophy behind El Studio.

As a Latina founder and avid runner — often seen in South Austin with a stroller in stride — Gen is a student of life, believing youth is sustained through two things: the spine and the brain. Her work reflects curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to movement that adapts with you through every season of life.
